Date Published: 26/06/2019 | Blog category: Board

It has been quite a busy month again and here are some of the highlights of my work.

26th May - I attended the lovely wedding of Operations Manager Matt Garton and Paula Broadhurst at Rothley Court, in Leicestershire. It was a beautiful day.

28th May - Southern Membership and Community Council (MCC) meeting south of Leicester. It was very well attended by very focused and enthusiastic ambassadors.

30th May - Search committee meeting

31st May - Co-op Press Annual General meeting in Manchester. It was unfortunately inquorate and ultimately deferred to 21st June.

3rd June - Search Committee meeting with Simon Parkinson focusing on director and MCC training and development

5th June - Society Party Council meeting - Northern Region. Held in Derby City Council House.

7th June - I went to Stowupland in Suffolk for the opening of our new store attached to a petrol station. It was an excellent event and I caught up with 'new' Head of Food Paul Dennis again. There was excellent support for the store from local colleagues and Jenny Hurst, Eastern Region Member & Community Relations Officer. It was good to see our CEO Debbie Robinson there along with Group Managers Dan Gee and Claire Koziol and Operations Manager John Nickson.

I then spent a few days in rainy Kent.

11th June - I attended Eastern Member and Community Council meeting in Dersingham.

17th June - I attended the sad funeral of Graeme Watkins in Peterborough along with most of the Board and executive plus colleagues from the wider movement.

18th June - 11am Meeting about meetings - always seeking to make our Members' Meetings better.

3pm - Pre-board with Vice-president Jane Avery, Debbie and Society Secretary Jim Watts and  Strategy Day planning

19th June - 9am - Women's Voices Review Meeting - fantastic news that we had 100% satisfaction, the best the analyst had ever worked on.

9.30 am Men's Event preliminary planning - some great ideas for our November event to coincide with International Men's Day.

10.30 am - Search Committee

12 noon - Communications Meeting

2.15pm - Board meeting
