Co-op Congress 2024

We are excited to announce that Central Co-op will be sponsoring the International Supper at Co-op Congress 2024! The event will take place at The Eastside Rooms in Birmingham on Friday the 14th and Saturday the 15th of June. This year’s Congress promises to be the UK’s largest and most impactful gathering of co-operative minds, bringing together leaders, thinkers and activists to share ideas, gain inspiration and take action toward building a fairer economy.

Co-op Congress 2024 boasts an impressive line-up of speakers, addressing a range of crucial topics, such as:

• Membership worth owning and conversations worth having
• The feeling is mutual – The co-operative and mutual economy
• Culture, creativity, and worker co-ops
• The need for co-operative growth
• We have the power - renewable energy in communities
• Co-ops at the heart of communities
• The role of co-operation in the housing crisis
• Empowering co-operation – giving youth a voice

In addition to the main-room sessions, there will be a variety of fringe events designed to foster deeper discussions and connections among attendees. One of the highlights is the Friday evening networking and social event, featuring an international buffet, sponsored by Central Co-op. This supper will provide a unique opportunity for attendees to mingle, share experiences and enjoy a diverse array of international cuisines, while listening to a mix of international and UK co-operative speakers, such as:

• Debbie Robinson, CEO of Central Co-op
• Pete Westall, Chief Values Officer of MidCounties Co-op
• Marco Pedroni, President of Eurocoop

We are also proud to be participating in the FREE National Youth Summit on Saturday the 15th of June, at the same venue. This summit is specifically aimed at young people aged 30 or younger who are involved with or curious about the future of co-operation. It's an excellent platform for the next generation of co-operators to learn, engage and envision the future of the movement.
