Bird box making in New Mill

River Holme and the New Mill Co-op Store provided workshops during the Summer break. Children were able to use tools and receive expert help to make bird boxes for their gardens. Membership & Community Council member Shirley Bly said it was a fantastic way of educating the children about wildlife and also to be able to make something practical which the children thoroughly enjoyed. It gave the store a visible presence on the street and showed how we can utilise the space around the stores.
