Family Fun Day

The Family Fun Day was a great success. A joint event with the Derbyshire Wildlife Trust, the Membership & Community Council, retail and funeral colleagues, it attracted over 100 people. The event was to promote the Avenue Washlands Nature Reserve in Wingerworth. This beautiful nature spot was a great place to hold a walk and free picnic. Sam Willis from the Trust took families on guided tours and helped the children with the insect sweeping, which was a particular favourite. Our funeral team provided an activity of naming the bear, while MCC and retail colleagues assisted with the fruit tastings and the picnic. Families really enjoyed their time at the Reserve and we managed to talk to them about how things on your doorstep are brilliant.
