An Award for our support to the Peace Centre

On Saturday, we were invited along to help the Peace Centre, based in Thurnby Lodge, in Leicester to celebrate As-Salaam Trust's 15th Anniversary.

Moulana Mohammed and his Wife Apa Anisa have been the main driving force for the Centre which is a mosque and also a community centre which opens its doors to the local community. The Peace Centre provides faith-based education for children and adults, prayer facilities, community programmes, faith-based counselling, autism stay and play, youth groups and a much needed food bank.

We have been supporting the food bank for many years through our donations from stores, but we are proud of the relationship that we have built with the centre and more recently we have delivered our educational workshops and volunteered at the food bank. In recognition of this special relationship, we received a wonderful certificate in for our value time, commitment, support and donation to the As-Salaam Trust. We had a wonderful time listening to inspiring speakers, hearing about all of their achievements, meeting so many wonderful people, and of course there was some very tasty Asian food to eat too.
