We’re passionate about inclusion and continue to show our commitment to the communities we serve and our solidarity with those who are marginalised.

Over the past 6 months we’ve demonstrated our continued dedication through the launch of five executive-sponsored inclusion networks, each with a focus on areas we’re keen to learn more about and improve on.

Our disability, LGBTQIA+, under 25s, women and ethnicity networks provide a safe space to connect with others who share similar experiences, or those eager to learn how to be an ally. These networks empower colleagues to shape business decisions, encourage best practice and enrich our Society’s culture for the future.

In June we celebrated Pride month alongside our incredible Members and colleagues and with LGBTQIA+ communities across the globe. It’s a time where people are encouraged to feel secure, accepted and unjudged no matter who they love or how they identify.  We’re creating an inclusive Society culture where everyone thrives and feels they can bring their true selves to work.

Recent news of unpleasant civil disturbances across parts of the country have also shown how much people are willing to stand up and passionately defend an inclusive society.  We were heartened to see such community cohesion and togetherness in times of trouble.

It’s also a delight to see communities celebrate together in times of joy.  So, join us in looking back at some of the special moments we’ve enjoyed at Pride events throughout the year in Birmingham, Peterborough, Corby, Lichfield, Chesterfield, Belper, Lowestoft and our final two events of 2024 in Ashby-de-la-Zouch and Stafford last Saturday.

Let’s keep coming together to explore our identities and to share our feelings so we understand and accept each other even more than we did before.

Say it loud and say it clear, "Everyone is welcome here!".
