One year on: Celebrating “We’ve Got You” this Mental Health Awareness Week

This Mental Health Awareness Week marks the one-year anniversary of our We’ve Got You wellbeing campaign.

Launched in the wake of Mental Health Awareness Week 2024, We’ve Got You was created with a clear purpose: to put the mental, physical and emotional wellbeing of our colleagues front and centre. One year on, that purpose remains stronger than ever, and the campaign has grown into something truly meaningful for our entire Society.

As a co-operative rooted in care and community, we know that real change starts with looking after each other. That’s why We’ve Got You was designed by colleagues, for colleagues. Starting in our funeral teams, whose roles are uniquely demanding, it has since expanded across the whole Society, with tailored wellbeing support for every area – from retail and funeral to our support centre.

At the heart of the campaign is our Wellbeing Centre, available on the our online colleague platform - the Difference Maker Hub. It’s your one-stop-shop for all things wellbeing – easy to access, simple to navigate and available whenever you need it, even outside of working hours.

Here’s a look at what’s on offer:

Mental Wellbeing

  • Free, confidential counselling sessions
  • Trained Wellbeing Champions who are Mental Health First Aiders
  • Advice on how to access the right support – both at work and at the end of your working day
  • Three paid volunteering days a year, giving back to causes that matter

Work-Life Balance

  • Enhanced maternity and paternity leave policies
  • Dedicated support for menopause and fertility
  • Hybrid working and Workflex trials to give you more choice and flexibility

Physical Wellbeing

  • Virtual GP access, free annual health checks and a health cash plan
  • Nutritional consultations and online exercise classes
  • Cycle 2 Work scheme to make healthy commuting easier

We’ve also been focused on supporting our leaders to lead with wellbeing in mind. That’s why we partnered with award-winning wellbeing expert Liggy Webb to host a Leading Wellbeing webinar, offering practical tips to create a more caring culture across every team.

Thanks to feedback from colleagues, we’ve continued to evolve the campaign. One of the biggest changes this past year has been the reorganisation of our Difference Maker Hub, making it even easier to find the wellbeing support you need, when you need it.

We know life doesn’t stop when your shift ends. Whatever you’re facing – inside or outside of work – We’ve Got You.
