Fairtrade Talk, Quiz and Games for the Wednesday Afternoon Group
We were once again invited back to the Wednesday Afternoon Group who meet in Leicester, as they were interested to learn all about Fairtrade and why the Co-op supports farmers and producers, and how we make a difference to families and communities in the developing world.
Mind Your Money Game & Fruit at Open Hands Charity in Leicester
We spent a morning at the Open Hands Charity in Leicester, which supports people experiencing financial challenges, offering a food bank, clothing bank, furniture bank and access to various organisations who are hand to provide information and support. And there is always a hot drink, food and a friendly face.
We went along on a busy Tuesday morning and took along some delicious Co-op fruit which was a real treat as there is currently not much available in the Food Bank. We also took along our "Mind your Money" Game which is similar to monopoly but promotes discussion around managing money from household bills, to understanding a payslip to planning for the unexpected. It was great to see so many people engaged with us and others, and hopefully next time they visit they will know a few more friendly faces.
