Disability Awareness Month

On Sunday, we teamed up with member pioneers from Co-op Group and colleagues from the Outdoor Pursuit Centre in Leicester to support families with disabilities, including young carers. The unfortunate snow reduced numbers able to attend but those who did manage to get there enjoyed a variety of activities from archery, a climbing wall and make a festive wreath from greenery which was all foraged from the surrounding area. We provided a selection box for the children take home and the Co-op Group provided the refreshments throughout the day.

We hope to return in the spring or summer for a joint event and hopefully the weather will be kinder and we may get the chance to take part in the outdoor activities.
