The Southern Membership and Community Council were once again delighted to be invited back to be judges for the work on environmental issues such as climate change, biodiversity loss and plastic pollution taking place in schools across Leicester City.
The Eco Schools programme provides a seven-step framework to help empower young people to make a difference in their school, local community and beyond. After working through the steps during the academic year, schools, colleges and even nurseries can apply for an Eco Schools Green Flag accreditation.
This year, members of the Council who took part in the judging found the standards extremely high and the knowledge of the young students on their chosen project exceptional.
It is always interesting and enjoyable to speak to young people who care deeply about the environment about their ideas and how they have made a difference in their school.
They are all winners!
