Half Term Brings Lots of Activity

Half-term is a great opportunity for us to get involved in local community activities, especially those organised for children.
We have held some intergenerational cooking sessions at The Hub in Loughborough, where children and parents were able to come together in a fun environment and make flapjacks together, which they then took home.
We partnered with Northside Bikes and held a bike maintenance event at our New Parks Store in Leicester and were pleased that lots of children and some adults took the time to get their bikes checked with gave them peace of mind that their bikes were safe.
Over in Kettering, we attended an Family Activities Day organised by North Northants Council, along with 20 other community organisations who offered advice and support and creative activities. We took along some fruit for families to make their own healthy and delicious fruit kebabs, and also some pebbles for painting which have been donated to our children's rainbow garden at Bretby Crematorium.
Back in Leicester, we delivered a healthy choices workshop to a Diabetes Group who meet at Belgrave Library, where there was a chance to learn about your recommended five a day, understand more about portion sizes and food labelling before finishing with some fruit kebabs.
